In order to obtain optimum performance from your skis it is imperative they are well maintained and serviced regularily. A correctly tuned pair of skis afford better control and a higher degree of safety. The skis capacity to glide and turn is reduced when incorrectly tuned by that we mean ther skier has to expend more energy and consequently results in a higher and faster level of fatigue. To get the maximum pleasure and performance from your skiing it is essential to take advantage of the latest design developments in ski technology.

Our hire department is stocked with the best Salomon skis and for the coming season we will continue to develop our hire department based in the huge Chalet Nicola basement. Totally separated from the chalet, it couldn't be more convenient and it is now possible to reserve your skis prior to your arrival in Courchevel. We work closely with our partner Salomon and our ski store has some of the best equipment available.

There are two main factors that influence ski performance;

Edges - Good sharp edges provide grip affecting the turning response and feel of the skis.

Base - Flat waxed bases glide across the snow more effectively and ease turning.

Our technician is Salomon qualified and his sole job is to maintain and service the skis ensuring they go out in pristine condition, freshly waxed and with sharpened edges.

An edge, waxing and de-burring service for guests' own skis, and for other hire equipment related enquiries is available at Nicola ski room. Our salomon technician is normally available between 8-9am and again in evenings from 5-6pm.

Wax to the Max - €7.50 A service only really suitable for those with previously tuned skis, but requiring a renewed layer of wax Base and Wax - €15 A service suitable for those that feel their edges are sharp enough. Minor base repairs and wax of both skis

Luxury - €25 A service suitable for many skiers, edge de-burring and sharpening, minor base repair and wax of both skis Expert - €30 A service suitable for skiers that want their skis like new again. Edge de-burring and sharpening, base grind and wax of both ski

Children's Hire - In the past, children have had to go to the local ski shop to hire their equipment. However, thanks to our increased capacity, we can now offer a wide choice of kids' skis, boots and helmets. Children under the age of 12yrs can take advantage of the low price on the full package of skis, boots and safety helmet of £70 / €90 inclusive.
(Boots £25, Skis £35, Helmet £10).
