Children - skiing, childcare & creche
Our inhouse childcare facility is run by fully
qualified British nannies (NNEB or equivalent qualification) who
are directly employed by Skivolution to manage our crèche
during the winter season. Situated in Le Praz, the crèche
is based in a dedicated apartment which provides a structured, happy
and stimulating environment for babies, toddlers and older children
alike. Opening at 8.45am each morning and running until 5.00pm each
evening (6 days a week, Sunday to Friday) we ensure that full childcare
provision is on hand to enable you to enjoy your ski holiday to
the fullest, safe in the knowledge that your child is well looked
after and contented, which is of the utmost importance to us. Crèche
places must be prebooked and prepaid in advance of your holiday.
Please call the UK office to confirm crèche availability
and to request a Crèche Booking From. You will be invoiced
as part of your final holiday balance for payment. Due to our strict
childcare ratios we are unable to take bookings after your arrival
in resort.
Don't forget to bring a bag on holiday for your child to take to
crèche with them for special drinking cups they may use,
favourite blankets or toys, nappies or anything else that would
make their day in the crèche as happy as possible.
Snowdrop
Club
Non-skiing crèche: 6 months – 4 yrs - £230 per
week
Open from 8.45am – 5.00pm
Hot lunch
Morning and afternoon snacks and drinks
Indoor and outdoor games and activities
This is aimed at non-skiing children. Upon arrival in the morning
there will be free play to allow the little ones to settle down
and absorb new arrivals. There will be a creative session mid morning
or those who need a nap can sleep in one of the nursery cots followed
by some reviving fresh air. Shortly before lunchtime the children
in the Snowdrop Club will be joined by the older children from the
Snowflake Club when they return from their morning ski lesson. Depending
upon ages children of both clubs may join together for afternoon
activities.
Snowflake
Club
Skiing crèche: 5 – 8 years - £170 per
week
Nannies pick up after lessons from Skivolution Ski School at Courchevel
1850 during late morning
Crèche runs until 5.00pm
Hot lunch
Afternoon snacks and drinks
Indoor and outdoor afternoon games and activities
Skiing children from 5 - 8 years who are in the
Snowdrop Club will have their ski lesson for two hours in the morning
and then be collected by the nannies. On a Wednesday (the ski instructor's
day off) children in the Snowflake Club would normally ski with
their parents in the morning and be collected by nannies at 11.30am
and taken to the crèche for lunch and afternoon activities.
Alternatively, parents may choose to drop their children off at
the crèche in Le Praz from 11.30am onwards.
Crèche Refreshments
Both a mid morning and afternoon snack will be provided as will
lunch including a hot main course and pudding, prepared by the nannies.
Unlimited soft drinks will also be provided in the crèche
throughout the course of the day.
If your child is twelve months or under, we would strongly recommend
that you bring your own jars of baby food which your child is used
to. This avoids the chance of any tummy upsets due to the change
of food on arrival. However, we will have available jars of French
baby food for lunch in the crèche.
Please bring along your own nappies and baby milk for your child
if your child requires these.
Crèche Activities
We endeavour to ensure that the children have the opportunity to
experience a wide range of activities whilst in the crèche
such as:
-
Piste side picnics and bubble riding
-
Snowmen and igloo building
-
Indoor and outdoor treasure hunts
-
Snow “whizzing” on sledges or ‘bum’
boards
-
Creative sessions – colouring, face painting, drawing
-
Quiet sessions such as story telling or videos
-
Music and games
-
Cookie making and cake decorating
A daily activity plan is devised by the nannies
on a weekly basis and all activities are tailored to suit the ages
of the children in the crèche that week along with the daily
weather conditions. Regular walks and plenty of fresh air are incorporated
into the daily activity plan.
In the chalets
Please be aware that whilst the normal chalet breakfast is available
in the morning for children under 2 years of age, you are asked
to cater for them yourself in the evening. You are very welcome
to help yourself to any leftover food from dinner the evening before
and your chalet staff will assist you with this as much as possible.
For those aged 2 years and above a “Kids' Tea” can be
arranged with your chalet hosts at around 6.00pm each evening. We
find that most parents prefer their children to eat earlier so that
they can then enjoy an adult dinner along with a relaxing glass
of wine at 8.00pm. Please let us know in advance if you would prefer
a “Kids’ Tea” for your children.
If your child has any particular dietary requirements then please
notify us in advance of coming on holiday so we can accommodate
them
Babysitting
A babysitting service is also available (at an additional hourly
rate) on your chalet hosts' night off. Because this service getsquickly
booked during peak holiday periods we suggest that you enquire about
this service upon arrival in resort to avoid disappointment or prebook
the service via the UK office.
