Content

Pat Cahill will once again head up the programme in Kaprun where he will be joined by other members of the Skivolution coaching team. All are either BASI Trainers or BASI ISDT qualified and whilst keeping a strong focus on the technical elements of skiing we always keep in mind that skiing is about having fun.

We provide elite level all day ski coaching over five days (Wednesday being a free ski day). In addition to a variety of skills and drill work we also focus upon "on the slope" feedback of your performance along with video two or three times in the week. Video analysis is provided in the evening at the hotel where we can really analyse all aspects of your skiing - this normally takes place over a glass of wine and is relaxed and enjoyable. The ski coaches stay in the same hotel and have breakfast and dinner with you.

Courses

All Mountain

Last November/December we had wonderful conditions - great snow and endless sun.  The off-piste was limited although we still found some good stuff!  The great thing about the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier is the array of skiing which is better than many winter resorts in terms of terrain and back country possibililties.  This course is all about enjoying and experiencing the whole mountain. On-piste, off-piste, bumps and steeps - we take you everywhere and teach you how to deal with it!

Race Training: Level 1

Race training is, in our opinion, one of the best ways to improve your skiing. Great terrain and a carefully structured programme involving free ski drills and short training gates which helps to improve your skiing quickly. In November 2011 we ran two courses which went extremely well and the improvement in everyone's ski level was impressive.

Minimum ability: good parallel on red runs.

Race Training: Level 2

If you have experience of Race Training this is more suited to you. The first 2 hours of the day are technical based (free ski with video) while the rest of the day focuses on line and speed on various courses. Our coaches use a variety of training aids to develop line, accuracy and speed in the gates.

Aimed at skiers with a high technical level.

Technical

Mainly piste based, these courses will move your skiing onto the next level. Fed up with mundane, uninspiring instruction? Stuck at the same level and finding improvement elusive? Our coaches work on your technical skills on an individual basis in small groups - it's this attention to detail, allied with regular video analysis, that makes the difference.

Bumps

In the past we have run bump courses on other glaciers, but Kaprun is by far the best, with a smooth progression in terms of slope difficulty, allowing our students to make optimum progress. Our instructors will develop your mogul skiing in a clear and easy to understand way - giving you confidence and new skills, making bump skiing easy.

Lower Level Intermediates (Blue Run Skiers)

For the last 2 seasons we offered specific courses for blue run skiers who were interested in developing their skiing through our pre season training in Kaprun. This proved a popular option and we are once again offering this for the forthcoming season. The large number of wide open pistes and fantastic snow conditions enabled us to trial a few of these courses last year - we found these to be extremely successful and beneficial in helping intermediate skiers who had reached a plateau to move on to the next level of skiing.
